It all started with a “simple investment.”

Or at least, that’s what Carmen and Jaime thought when they decided to buy an old house to remodel and resell. What they didn’t imagine was that this decision would change their lives.

The house was over 60 years old and had been abandoned for nearly 20. It had no floors, no kitchen, no bathroom. The only thing still intact was its charm — hidden beneath layers of dust and cobwebs. Jaime saw it and fell in love (Carmen still reminds him of that). He insisted again and again until he convinced her: “This is the one.”

For four years, they cared for the land without touching the structure, taming the jungle that tried to reclaim its territory. When the restoration finally began, it took several years —a process filled with creativity, patience, and reclaimed materials. Each repaired wall was a small victory.

And something changed.

The idea of reselling faded away, and emotional connection took over. What began as an investment turned into a home —and later, a shared dream.
That’s how Hacienda Azucena was born: a place to stay, to celebrate, and to connect with nature (and with yourself).

The first guests arrived when there were still nails to pick up and details to finish. They paid little, but gave much in return —honest feedback, ideas, and words that helped shape the experience. Over time, they left behind something even more valuable than reviews: memories. Little stories, drawings, notes, and objects that remain today as witnesses of the spirit of this place.

With family help came the first weddings. The Hacienda filled with laughter, lights, and moments that stayed within its walls. With every story, something greater grew —a sense of community.

In 2022, Stephanie, Carmen’s daughter, joined the project, bringing fresh energy, professionalism, and that creative spark every tradition needs. After a 12-year corporate career in marketing and merchandising, Stephanie decided to return home and join the family business. With her, weddings became seamless, processes smoother, and the vision larger —but the warmth that started it all stayed the same.

Today, Hacienda Azucena is much more than a place to stay or celebrate. It’s a living story —built from nature, effort, love, and a good dose of intuition.
A space where the stars feel closer, time moves slower, and every visit leaves a mark.

Todo empezó con una “simple inversión”.

O al menos, eso creyeron Carmen y Jaime cuando decidieron comprar una casa vieja para remodelarla y revenderla. Lo que no imaginaron fue que aquella decisión les cambiaría la vida.

La casa tenía más de 60 años, y casi 20 de abandono. No tenía piso, ni cocina, ni baño. Lo único intacto era su encanto —escondido bajo capas de polvo y telarañas. Jaime la vio y se enamoró (Carmen todavía se lo recuerda). Insistió una y otra vez hasta convencerla: “Esta es la indicada”.

Durante cuatro años cuidaron el terreno sin tocar la estructura, domando la selva que intentaba recuperar su territorio. Cuando finalmente comenzó la restauración, el proceso tomó varios años, lleno de creatividad, paciencia y materiales reciclados. Cada pared reparada era una pequeña victoria.

Y algo cambió.

La idea de revender desapareció, y la conexión emocional tomó el mando. Lo que empezó como una inversión terminó siendo un hogar —y luego, un sueño compartido.

Así nació Hacienda Azucena, un lugar para quedarse, celebrar y conectar con la naturaleza (y con uno mismo).

Los primeros huéspedes llegaron cuando todavía había clavos por recoger y detalles por pulir. Pagaban poco, pero daban mucho: comentarios sinceros, ideas y palabras que ayudaron a moldear la experiencia. Con el tiempo, dejaron algo más valioso que reseñas: recuerdos. Pequeñas historias, dibujos, notas y objetos que aún se conservan como testigos del alma del lugar.

Con ayuda familiar, llegaron las primeras bodas. La Hacienda se llenó de risas, luces y momentos que se quedaron pegados a sus paredes. Con cada historia, crecía algo más que un negocio: una comunidad.

En el 2022 llegó Stephanie, hija de Carmen, trayendo aire fresco, profesionalismo y ese toque creativo que toda tradición necesita. Luego de una carrera corporativa de 12 años en mercadeo y merchandising, Stephanie decidió unirse al negocio familiar. Con ella, las bodas se volvieron impecables, los procesos más fluidos y la visión más grande, pero sin perder la calidez que lo empezó todo.

Hoy, Hacienda Azucena es mucho más que un lugar para hospedarse o celebrar. Es una historia viva —hecha de naturaleza, esfuerzo, amor y una buena dosis de intuición. Un espacio donde las estrellas parecen más cercanas, el tiempo se mueve más lento y cada visita deja una huella.

Porque aquí, cada rincón tiene una historia.
